Mishimoto | Performance Aluminum Radiator | GR Yaris

The standard oil cooler of the GR Yaris functions as a water-to-oil heat exchanger and is therefore directly dependent on the performance of the engine cooling system. As coolant temperatures rise, the system's ability to reliably keep oil temperatures under control is simultaneously reduced. Especially on the racetrack, oil temperatures of over 127 °C have already been observed in these vehicles.

The Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Radiator was developed to address exactly this issue and significantly increase the GR's cooling reserves.

Compared to the stock radiator with plastic end tanks, Mishimoto relies on an all-aluminum construction. The radiator core features approximately 51% more volume than the stock component. This allows not only for a greater coolant capacity but also for a larger amount of heat to be dissipated into the ambient air.

Specially braced cooling tubes are used inside. These allow for wider individual channels with a larger effectively usable surface area than classic multi-row radiator designs. At the same time, the braces increase the mechanical stability of the radiator core and reduce the risk of damage from heavy vibrations, potholes, or off-track excursions on the circuit.

In addition, fins with a specialized air-flow design ensure that the passing air is distributed as efficiently as possible across the entire cooling surface. The included foam seals prevent a large portion of the cooling air from bypassing the radiator, directing it purposefully through the core.

Durability and ease of maintenance have also been improved. The intercooler mounts are reinforced, making them suitable for larger and heavier upgrade intercoolers as well. An extended drain valve with a slotted drain plug also facilitates coolant changes and reduces the typical mess when draining the system.
