RAVENOL Racing Brake Fluid R 340+ is a high-quality racing brake fluid for those looking to get more durability, a more direct pedal feel, and a higher temperature margin out of their braking system.
Especially with spiritedly driven vehicles like the Toyota GT86, Toyota GR86, Subaru BRZ I and BRZ II, the stock brakes quickly reach their thermal limits during fast driving, mountain passes, or track day use. In this case, a high-quality brake fluid is one of the most sensible first steps before upgrading directly to a larger brake system.
RAVENOL R 340+ was specifically developed for high thermal, chemical, and mechanical loads and exceeds the requirements of DOT 4. Due to the very high boiling point, the brake pedal remains more consistent even under heavy load, and the risk of fading pedal pressure due to overheated brake fluid is reduced.
Why racing brake fluid?
Normal brake fluid can reach its limits faster under intense heat development. If the fluid becomes too hot, vapor can form in the system. The result is a softer brake pedal, longer pedal travel, and in the worst case, severely reduced braking pressure.
A racing brake fluid like RAVENOL R 340+ offers a significantly higher temperature margin here. This is a major advantage, especially during sporty driving, with semi-slicks, on track days, or on long downhill stretches.

The perfect addition for the stock brake system
Especially with the GT86, GR86, and BRZ, an astonishing amount can be extracted from the quickly overloaded stock brake system with the right components. In combination with braided stainless steel brake lines, a brake master cylinder brace, and simple brake cooling via Porsche air guides, this creates a very sensible upgrade package for sporty road and track day use.
Our recommendation for a more fade-resistant brake setup:
- RAVENOL Racing Brake Fluid R 340+
- Braided stainless steel brake lines for reduced hose expansion
- Brake master cylinder brace for a more direct pedal feel (Gen1 and Gen2)
- Porsche air guides as simple and effective brake cooling
- or a proper brake cooling system
- High-quality brake pads and discs suitable for the intended use
This combination improves not only the temperature stability but also the pedal feel and the repeatability of the braking performance. Especially for vehicles where a big brake kit is not yet to be installed, this is a very strong, small-scale solution with a noticeable effect.
Benefits at a glance
- Significantly higher temperature margin than standard brake fluid
- More consistent pedal feel under heavy load
- Reduces the risk of fading due to overheated brake fluid
- Sensible upgrade for sporty drivers and track day beginners
- Ideal in combination with stainless steel lines, master cylinder brace, and brake cooling
- DOT 4 level, making it suitable for many stock brake systems
- Also suitable for vehicles with ABS
- Very good choice for Toyota GT86, Toyota GR86, Subaru BRZ I and BRZ II
Application note
For optimal performance, the brake system should be completely filled with RAVENOL Racing Brake Fluid R 340+. The fluid should not be mixed with other brake fluids. When changing the fluid, ensure clean working practices, as brake fluid can absorb water and contaminants can impair braking performance. A professional change of brake fluid including bleeding is vital for safety! Do not experiment when it comes to brakes.
For track day or racing use, we recommend a regular change of the brake fluid. Depending on the load, changing it before or after intensive use may be advisable.
For a standard change, we recommend 1L, i.e., 2x 0.5-liter packs. The clutch system is also DOT 4, so you can use the fluid there as well. While technically usually an overkill, it ensures you have the same fluid throughout. It is important that you replace the fluid completely and not just mix it in.
